Entrust is the proud majority owner of listed energy company Vector, on behalf of the communities of central, east and south Auckland. Since 1993, we’ve been looking after the interests of power consumers in our district, and through our annual dividend have made a difference to hundreds of thousands of hardworking Kiwi households and businesses. It’s a privilege to serve our community.

We’re often asked about the Entrust ownership model, and how it benefits the community. The benefits of the Entrust ownership model include:

  • Annual dividend paid each year – New Zealand’s largest dividend distribution
  • More than $2.5 billion in dividends paid to power account holders in central, east and south Auckland over the past 30 years
  • Under Entrust majority ownership, Vector's value has grown to $3.3 billion (as at 30 June 2025)
  • Assets held in trust for the intergenerational benefit of the community
  • Provides Vector with stable ownership and a consistent strategic majority

  • Entrust approves Vector’s major transactions and, alongside other shareholders, appoints the board of directors
  • More than 330 undergrounding projects completed, with around 72.6% of power lines now underground across central, east and south Auckland
  • Elected, accountable Trustees who are answerable to the community and are power consumers themselves
  • Entrust advocates for power consumers on important energy matters
